FAQs

  • What type of moulds do you make?

Vacuum formed, Silicone moulds and Injection Moulded Polycarbonate. We can make bespoke two-part moulds for 3d hollow chocolate, 2d mould shapes, lolly, praline, and chocolate bars.

Prolong the life of your existing polycarbonate moulds with vacuum-formed inserts by adding new designs to fit existing mould shapes. We can also make to fit existing clip-holding systems.

Bespoke injection moulded polycarbonate moulds, as a standard frame, magnetic, spinning moulds.

  • What size moulds do you make?

Vacuum formed and Silicone moulds can be made to fit your vibrating tables and dosing machines or fill and scrape with or without sides.

Our hand-made vacuum-formed moulds have a maximum size of 420mm x 260mm. We can produce industrial moulds up to 1.400mm with fully automated robot production.

Polycarbonate sizes are based on standard series sizes.

    Series 1000 135 x 175mm

    Series 2000 175 x 275mm

    Series 3000 205 x 275mm

    Series 4000 203 x 322mm

    Series 5000 203 x 358mm

  • Are there any minimum order quanitites?

For our hand-made, vacuum formed, and silicone moulds, there is no minimum quantity; you can have only one mould if that is what you would like. Our custom injection moulded polycarbonate moulds have an MOQ of 35-50, depending on the type.

  • How long do the moulds / tools last?

Our high-quality food-grade professional Silicone moulds have a longer life overall than vacuum-formed GPET/PET moulds; as with any material, it depends on how often they are used and how they are cared for. Thin plastic moulds are cheaper in comparison but are likely to be replaced more frequently. Injection moulded Polycarbonates are of an extremely high quality and practically indestructible if cared for properly.

We recommend that all moulds are hand washed in cool water and never use an abrasive cleaner or scrub, as this action will damage your moulds. Resin model board tools have a reasonable life span but may need refurbishment from time to time or replacement due to heat distortion. Aluminium tooling will last for 100,000’s of products.

  • Do I need a professional drawing?

No, a professional drawing is not required, as we can make a drawing from a picture that has a black outline or a product that we can scan. If you have a drawing or your logo in a step file or other recognised 3D format, it will save you money in drawing time, JPEG/vector formats are also acceptable. We will advise you if your design needs to be tweaked to work as a mould.

  • What are design rights?

If you supply us with a drawing that is not of your own origin, you must make sure that you have the originator’s permission to replicate the image for commercial use to avoid breaking their copyright. We can originate drawings for your ideas depending on the complexity.

  • Do I need a chocolatier?

No, you don’t; we offer a full Corporate Gifting Service, from design, moulds, producing the chocolate, packaging and gift wrapped if you wish. We work with quality chocolatiers only, who are very skilled, and I choose the best one suited to suit each order.
